What's your dream 1st possession of the season

I can't wait for the 2013-14 NBA season to start.

I've never been more excited, not just about the Jazz team itself, but about being a Jazz fan amongst fans. We've got a couple of years now in the rear-view mirror that contained some questionable rotations, disappointing decision making, and ultimately a lot of animosity and negativity amongst the fan base directed at Coach Corbin, most of which was deserved. I won't make it a secret. I was really bummed to be a Jazz fan for most of last year, because of how much frustration was stagnating in the air from game to game. It just didn't make sense sometimes how our players were being used, and the poor decision making was feeding the pessimism and frustration. Even Diana, a voice of perennial optimism, showed a chink in the armor. When so much frustration is being felt, and the obvious answers seem right there in front of all of us, it was understandable. It was understandable.

SO...I am really fired up this season, really fired up to watch whatever may happen and be damn proud of our guys and have fun rooting in the process. Guys, not only did we basically get the Core Four in prime position to play and show how underrated they are (Awesome!) but we're getting a season where the rest of the league has written us off as big losers or even tankers. I hope this translates into optimism from us when we see bad plays. I think it will. I think it will be easy to look at mistakes that happen this year through a lens of "Well, okay but we're getting better" rather than a lens of "arrrrghhh this wouldn't be happening if Ty would just play the C4!"

I am ready to watch an exciting Utah Jazz team, to watch a team that we all believe in scrap their way to whatever record comes their way -- but more than anything I am ready to watch them with you again. I am planning to be at more Game Threads this year, to listen all the way through to more podcasts and shows, to participate in the conversation in a bigger way. I even went out and got a Twitter account mostly for Jazz-related fandom, so that I can be exposed to all the awesomeness that I've long enjoyed seeping out of SLC Dunk.

I want to be able to say I. Was. Here. this season. In an engaged way. If our current base ends up being something special in a few years, I want to be one of the fans who remembers what this 2013-14 year really felt like.

I can't wait for the 2013-14 NBA season to start. So, I have a question for you, to get you thinking about that exciting first game. Picture it: it's opening night at the ESA. The Jazz line up, bend down and watch the referee lift the ball into the air....and boom -- we win the tip off! What happens next?! What's your dream possession?

I imagine the call would be something like this...

---

"Enes Kanter hits it over to Trey Burke...Jazz win the tip...Burke brings the team up the court -- looks around, looks for a man, finds Favors cutting. Favors passes it to Gordon Hay---ohhh ohh Hayward RIGHT BACK OVER the shoulder to Favors, WHO CUTS IN FOR THE SLAM DUNK! Pow! Hayward to Favors! Jazz GO UP 2-0, Favors is patting Hayward on the head, and look at the Crowd at ESA really responding to that energy!!
