I watched a portion of the podcast with Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose, and one of Simmons' comments really stood out to me.
"You gotta have a plan that you stick to, game to game. Guys need to go to the arena and know how many minutes they're playing, and who they're playing with. You can't just change that game to game. Mike Brown does the same thing. You need to know what's gonna happen when you get there."
Bill and Jalen go on to have a back and forth, relating it to a relationship. If a guy watches football all day, every Sunday, that's what his wife expects him to do. (Bill mentions that he's only allowed to do this because it's his job, and he still gets crap for it. haha.) Bill then says that if the guy in this scenario just disappears all day Sunday without explaining it, his wife will be confused, thinking, "Well that's weird."
Bill then goes on to say, "I feel like that's how Mo Cheeks coaches, kinda. 'Oh, I'm not playing in the 2nd half? But I played in the 2nd half the last game...'"
I thought this was interesting. He wasn't talking about Corbin, but the whole time I was thinking of Ty's gameplans and how there is no consistency from game to game in "Who am I playing with?" "How many minutes am I getting tonight?" "Will I play in the 2nd half?"
