January Game Streams -- Welcome to Loud City -- Thunder vs Jazz coverage

.

The Utah Jazz, the worst team in the Western Conference, just beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, who started the night off as the best. A lot of things happened in this game, and while the final score wasn't truly indicative of how crazy things were . . . it was a very interesting game where we beat a team missing Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, and their best player Kevin Durant only went to the line 19 times.

Hollow victory? I don't care.

How did we win? Your guess is as good as mine, Jazz fans!

.

Three negatives:

  • Kevin Durant still managed 48 points by himself as the only guy the defense had to focus on, of course, he did it on 34 shots (a career high), his efficiency really came from going to the line 19 times, making 17. Of course, a lot of those calls he bought with star power.
  • The Jazz didn't get much from their back-up point guards. John Lucas III didn't get in the game, and Diante Garrett finished with 2 assists and 2 turn overs, no points.
  • Shawn Kemp needs help with child support payments.

.

Three positives:

  • Brandon Rush -- no really, he did stuff. He played, and made shots. Since the Jazz just traded Richard Jefferson to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the cadaver of Andrew Bynum we're going to need more vets to step up. Oh. Wait. Crap. Good job tho, Brandon. Keep it up.
  • Team shooting -- the Jazz were scorching all night long, they cooled off in crunch time, but having a 58.8 fg% / 44.4 3pt% / 77.4 ft% night is like the kind of shooting splits we used to have back when we had floor spacing and Hall of Famers (players and coach) running this team.
  • Gordon Hayward -- G-Time was Big Time tonight with an amazing game.He finished with 37 points off of 16 shots, 2.31 pps, which is higher than his number during the Orlando summer league as a rookie), 11 rebounds, 7 assists (4 turn overs), 2 steals, and 1 block. Great night for the RFA player.

The Jazz play next a million days from now, against the Cleveland Cavaliers!
