One of the problems last year the Jazz had was the extreme lack of outside shooting. That being said, many were sad that Aaron Gordon was not picked, mostly because of defensive prowess. I don't have any stats here, offense or defense, but just extremely interesting to note Rodney's shot chart versus Aaron Gordon's:
What's interesting about Hood is how versatile he is. Not only can he stroke it from deep, he can hit the midrange shot far better than Gordon, finishes at the rim better (!) (by 1%, but still) than Gordon, and didn't take near enough shots anywhere in the dreaded, inefficient midrange, showing great shot selection. He also didn't have a shot that wasn't considered slightly above averagely efficient to above average efficient, all while shooting at relatively high frequencies. Whereas Gordon shot quite well from deep (36% if I remember correctly) he shows far less efficiency and didn't have near as much volume from outside as Rodney.
