NBA Preview 2013: Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Minnesota Timberwolves look to be measuring sticks for the Utah Jazz

Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

I'm going to be honest here -- I used to be a big Utah Jazz homer. No really, back when I was much younger I actually thought that Matt Harpring was having an All-Star season years ago back when the All-Star game was being hosted by the Atlanta Hawks. (I don't actually remember if I was on drugs or not) I'm no longer a Jazz homer, but I still got my teams' back.

This season is going to be fun, really. I want to see how our guys stack up against the Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Minnesota Timberwolves. They are all supposed to be better than us, and on paper should beat us. But guess what? I don't care. I think they they may have overt guard experience on us, but if we can get our bigs going I think a guy like Derrick Favors or Enes Kanter can have their way against the David Lee / Kenneth Faried / LaMarcus Aldridge / Kevin Love types that we'll face.

We may win some, we may lose some -- but we'll fight hard in all of these games, especially at home. But as I'm no longer a homer, I have to approach these measuring stick games with caution. I talk about this with Phil Naessens (@FlashTennis31), and other topics for an hour. [We also talk some fantasy bball sleepers and overrated guards, and if you want to join the fantasy league -- drop a line in the comments section. We'll find you a home : ), FOR FREE!]

You can check out Phil's page here and listen to the podcast in it's purest form; or if you are lazy, just click below.

Thanks again Phil, and no matter how measured I try to be -- I'm still kind of a Jazz homer at heart. And congrats to Phil for getting re-upped again with the Arms Forces radio and the eventual pickup by Clear Channel!
