The NBA just released a statement that Deron Williams has been named Western Conference Player of the Week. Fellow points guard Derrick Rose was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
Deron put up 24.4 & 10.8 over the week in addition to 4.8 rebounds a game. No doubt the four-game sweep of the Heat, Magic, Hawks, and Bobcats played a large part of the award.
Deron struggled in the first half of those games but led the charge in the second half of each of those comebacks. Here are the numbers he put up in the second half of those games:
19 & 12 - Miami
24 & 10 - Orlando
17 & 5 - Atlanta
14 & 6 - Charlotte
Deron was last named Western Conference Player of the Week last December when the Jazz took out the Lakers, Spurs, and Magic.
