Well, the sun still rose over the Wasatch this morning. EnergySolutions Arena is still standing. I'm not sure about the fans though.
The Downbeat doesn't seem as important today given that I have so much else to get to from over the past 24 hours but it will go on. The #4 edition is intentional by the way. Given that #4 on the Downbeat never technically existed, it works well.
There will be lots more today so forgive this for being a shortened DB.
I'm not sure what stage I am on in dealing with grief but I can tell you I woke up this morning with some of the same unknown excitement that I felt at the beginning of the season. With Sloan gone, it's a bigger change than when we lost Stockton and Malone and when we had such a huge turnover to start this season.
There's a bit of the cautious optimism again that I possessed when the season started. I'm anxious to see how Corbin will do and just how much the team will change in all facets of the game.
In a way, it's a good thing we have a game tonight regardless of how weird it's going to be without Sloan there. I couldn't imagine if this had happened over the All-star break and we had 7 days off.
Kind of ironic that these two numbers are together don't you think?
Monday open poll is simple enough. Is there any aspect of of Sloan's basketball/life skills/philosophies that you've found yourself doing either consciously or subconsciously?
