The Utah Jazz officially signed point guard Blake Ahearn for the rest of the season. This is awesome. It's always been the doctrine of the team (even back in the 12 man max roster days) to carry three point guards. Right now Earl Watson is injured and Jamaal Tinsley is . . . well, DNJ . . . so it's good to have added Blake. More than anything, I think Blake actually adds to this team. He's not just an insurance guy, he's also someone who is very capable of making shots from the back court. Yes, he's gone 1/5 from deep so far this season -- but as an shooter knows -- that just means he may go 6 for his next 10.
Also he makes free throws. How good he is? Well, he hasn't missed one all season long. Awesome.
Also, of note, the press release at utahjazz.com is amazing -- especially for the photo by Melissa Majchrzak (I love her name since back when I was blogging on my own and typed it on almost every post) which shows KOC's keen interest, *and* proof that ethnic minorities go to Jazz games.
Go Jazz!
Go Ahearn!
