Orlando Summer League - Day 1, Game 1

Utah Jazz @ Detroit Pistons

This is it, Jazz basketball starved fans, what we've been waiting for: the whole heads on sticks, buckle up, Eric Borques shebang. This would have been a fun game for me to be watching and 'covering' live for you guys, but seriously Amar, you're in Canada right now. Let it go . . .

The young Jazz squad will hopefully be HEADLINED by 2011 #3 pick Enes Kanter and 2011 #12 pick Alec Burks. There's no Big Al or Raja Bell to keep them on the bench at this level. You can check the full roster info here. The Jazz will also feature 2012 #47 draft pick Kevin Murphy, late season starter DeMarre Carroll, and the super long Henry Sims out of Georgetown. Also we have this scrawny Stockton kid who doesn't look too athletic or anything. I think we all should start overlooking him. I think the coaches may, as I fully well expect to see a lot of Blake Ahearn in this game.

The game today at 1:00 pm Mountain (3:00 pm EST), and will be on NBA TV. All of the games are also available via Summer League Broadband (for $15 bucks). The Pistons are an interesting team as they'll feature Austin Daye, Brandon Knight, and a bunch of guys only I have heard about. It should be a sloppy game with few highlights. Detroit plays a half court game, and so do we. Hope to see a lot of improvement and better confidence by our guys. I'm sure Knight will come out with something to prove.

I have no clue who will start. So, yeah. Go Jazz go!
