NBA Preseason 2013-2014, Game 1:

Golden State Warriors (1-1) at Utah Jazz (0-0)

Preview (by Diana) -- Golden State of Mind (SBN) -- Behind Enemy Lines (by Mychal)

Let our rebuilding season begin!

.

The Probable Starters:

  • Point Guards: Stephen Curry vs. Trey Burke
  • Shooting Guards: Andre Iguodala vs. Gordon Hayward
  • Small Forwards: Harrison Barnes vs. Richard Jefferson
  • Power Forwards: David Lee vs. Derrick Favors
  • Centers: Andrew Bogut vs. Enes Kanter

The show starts tonight, and we have some good matchups to watch out for. The "big one" tonight has to be Gordon (returning to the starting lineup) going up against Iggy. I can imagine that Richard Jefferson, a former All-Star, should have his way with Harrison Barnes. (really?) Our bigs should fight hard against theirs. And Curry is delicious when served with some rice and naan. The main course if definitely going to be the matchup between our best player and their best player. And that's where tonight should start for us fans.

The coaching battle between Mark Jackson and Tyrone Corbin should be fun to watch as well. The team that listens to their coach and plays their style will have an advantage here. The Warriors love to run, and for our sake as a defense first team, we should endeavor to slow it down.

Both benches are grab-bags, but the bench fight between Klay Thompson and Alec Burks will be entertaining for fans.

For the Jazz we'll be without Marvin Williams and Brandon Rush. For the Warriors they are likely to be without Festus Ezeli and Joe Alexander.

GO Jazz GO!
