The only new thing here is the information on if Gordon is playing or not. And he's . . . . not playing tonight.

Yup. So here are your presumed starters:

Point Guard:

Point Guard Pos G MPG PPG RPG APG TO A:TO SPG BPG PER USG% AST% TRB%
Brandon Jennings 1 36 36.2 16.6 3.4 8.5 3.3 2.6 1.5 0.1 16.4 24.2% 36.9% 5.1%
Trey Burke 1 28 30.9 13.6 3.3 5.6 1.9 2.9 0.7 0.1 14.9 23.3% 31.0% 6.0%
-8 -5.3 -3.0 -0.1 -2.9 -1.4 0.4 -0.8 0.0 -1.5 -0.9% -5.9% 0.9%

Hmm, as great as Trey looks to be, Brandon is just better right now. He's a bigger distributor for his team too, but that makes sense because his team doesn't also have a Hayward and Burks.

.

Shooting Guard:

Shooting Guard Pos G MPG PPG RPG APG TO A:TO SPG BPG PER USG% AST% TRB%
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope 2 3 36 24.3 7.3 2.3 0.9 0.4 2.3 1.0 0.1 9.3 14.1% 5.4% 5.1%
Alec Burks 2 1 40 27.7 13.0 3.2 2.7 1.7 1.6 0.8 0.3 14.8 23.2% 16.9% 6.6%
4 3.4 5.7 0.9 1.8 1.3 -0.7 -0.2 0.2 5.5 9.1% 11.5% 1.5%

Alec Burks is better than a rookie. Big whoop. (Sorry if I'm a downer, but man, this is not close at all).

Small Forward:

Small Forward Pos G MPG PPG RPG APG TO A:TO SPG BPG PER USG% AST% TRB%
Josh Smith 3 4 38 35.3 15.6 7.0 3.4 2.5 1.4 1.5 1.6 14.9 23.6% 15.7% 11.0%

2 -7.7 -5.1 -4.1 -1.5 -1.2 0.1 -0.9 -1.3 -5.1 -7.7% -4.6% 13.5%

Ohh, my eyes! Ze goggles they do nothing!

Power Forward:

Power Forward Pos G MPG PPG RPG APG TO A:TO SPG BPG PER USG% AST% TRB%
Greg Monroe 4 5 38 32.7 14.8 9.0 1.9 2.2 0.9 1.0 0.5 17.6 20.9% 9.7% 15.1%
Marvin Williams 3 4 30 26.8 9.2 5.1 1.3 1.0 1.3 1.0 0.6 13.6 16.1% 7.7% 11.0%
-8 -5.9 -5.6 -3.9 -0.6 -1.2 0.4 0.0 0.1 -4.0 -4.8% -2.0% -4.1%

I coulda sworn that we drafted some Dennis Cannor kid or something. Big guy? Rebounded? Well, this is not going to be pretty.

Center:

Center Pos G MPG PPG RPG APG TO A:TO SPG BPG PER USG% AST% TRB%
Andre Drummond 5 38 32.6 12.7 12.7 0.4 1.4 0.3 1.4 1.8 21.6 16.5% 2.0% 21.4%
Derrick Favors 5 4 38 31.6 13.8 9.0 1.2 1.9 0.6 1.1 1.3 18.4 20.5% 6.6% 16.3%
0 -1.0 1.1 -3.7 0.8 0.5 0.3 -0.3 -0.5 -3.2 4.0% 4.6% -5.1%

Even here you could argue either way. Despite how these two teams are playing, Detroit does have the better starters for tonight's game.

.

Bench:

Detroit has Rodney Stuckey, Will Bynum, Kyle Singler, and company ready to give us trouble with dribble penetration. On our side we have, uh, Enes Kanter. So that's good. We also have Jeremy Evans and Diante Garrett / John Lucas III. It'll be fun.

.

Coaches:

Maurice Cheeks (300-308) at home against Tyrone Corbin (100-116) . . . . how will Ty fare against a more vet coach than him?

.

Prediction:

Jazz lose a close one as Jennings has one of his "Woah, Jennings is really good!" games because our defense is the worst in the NBA. They are the #7 seed after all and healthy and playing at home. We're . . . the worst team in the conference and injured.

.

Still though . . .

GO JAZZ GO!
