February Game Streams -- CelticsBlog -- Celtics vs Jazz coverage
.
I remember years ago how happy Karl Malone was to finally beat the Boston Celtics in Boston. It was something special for the Utah Jazz. Years later we had Al Jefferson on the squad, and he was never able to beat the club that drafted him, he never got that monkey off his back.
Tonight, without Big Al, and with the Celtics down four rotation guys, we may have a chance. The last time the Jazz beat the Celtics at all was March 22nd, 2010. It was a 110-97 drubbing where our starting back court of Deron Williams and C.J. Miles both scored 20+ points. The Celtics couldn't fight back, even though they started Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Kendrick Perkins.
Those were the types of wins we used to get. We've had a few this season, the home wins against the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder are some of the sweet memories we will have of this 2013-2014 season. Tonight, perhaps, we can make another one by finally beating the Celtics in the first time in four seasons?
Of course, this year's squad doesn't have the same status as the one we last beat. But a win is a win.
We still get Rondo, and he'll have Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, Gerald Wallace, Jerryd Bayless, former Jazz player Kris Humphries, and the Canadian wonder Kelly Olynyk. It's going to be a good match, especially if Derrick Favors (Game time decision) can suit up. I'm actually really happy that Vitor Faverani is going to be out, alone with Avery Bradley, Jared Sullinger, and Keith Bogans. I miss winning, even in this season where we should want to lose.
Then things like this happen, and I'm all about the losses again.
I asked Corbin about Brad Stevens' quote of rather having a 33% 3 point shooter shoot than a 47% 2 point shooter. "That's his philosophy."

@andyblarsen Did you tell him that it is also the philosophy of 8th grade math classes?
