BREAKING: Utah Jazz Will Not Offer Tyrone Corbin a New Contract http://t.co/L7edqrUsT4 pic.twitter.com/ZaxiI0VpJW
— Utah Jazz (@utahjazz) April 21, 2014
Ty Corbin passed from his Head Coaching Life this morning after a long struggle against the quality teams of the NBA. He left peacefully, surrounded by his players and sent into the hands of his family.
He popped into his HC job unexpectedly, a little bundle of surprise on February 11, 2011. Life was difficult for him from the get-go, as his star was traded away before his first win.
For the next three and a half years, Ty led the Jazz to a 112-146 record. His team made the playoffs once, losing to the San Antonio Spurs in four straight games.
He believed in players earning their playing time, in working hard to get better, and teaching young guys to play the right way. More than anything else, Ty was praised by the Jazz front office for being a good man.
Ty is survived by his assistants Brad Jones and Alex Jensen.
