Chris Herring of the WSJ announced that the long-rumored signing of former Knicks guard Toure` Murry is complete:
Point guard Touré Murry officially signed a two-year deal with the Utah Jazz today, according to league sources.

He later tweeted that only the first year is guaranteed.
The deal was initially reported a couple of weeks ago. He had drawn interest from several teams after the Knicks made him an unrestricted free agent. They had wanted to bring him back but perhaps underestimated the level on interest in him from around the league. The Heat, Lakers, and Clippers also had looked into signing him as well as the Nets, Bulls, and Warriors.
My assumption is that the money, coupled with the opportunity of earning more playing time on a young team appealed to him more than the others. Though it's a low-level signing, the Jazz will have beat out big-market teams for his services.
Murry only appeared in 51 games last season for the Knicks and played in just over 7 minutes per game. It's hard to defer anything from his limited stats. But at 6' 5", he's been touted as a defensive player. He'll be fighting for PG minutes behind a suddenly crowded Jazz backcourt.
More to come on his signing.
