This will mark Trey's second appearance in the Rising Stars game with Gobert and Exum getting their first nods.
Gobert's inclusion was a no-brainer. He's made huge leaps this season and leads all rookies and sophomores in PER, leads the league in blocks per 36 minutes and leads in defensive field goal percentage around the rim. He should start the game.
At the beginning of the season, it sure didn't look like Trey Burke was going to make the team. But he's played much better recently and actually has stats close to where he was last season.
Dante will get the nod over teammate and fellow Aussie Joe Ingles. Exum hasn't had the take-notice-of-me type season yet that we had all hoped for just yet but is a player that the NBA will showcase. Ingles has better numbers so far than his junior counterpart, but I'm sure Joe will be fine with the extra long vacation during the All-star break this season.
In the new format, it's the native-born USA players versus the world which means that Gobert and Exum will play opposite of Burke. It's hard to say if Burke or Exum will get the start, but we should still see them go head to head and I'll doubt we'll see Burke drive the lane on Gobert.
We're off to Brooklyn and New York. No word on whether Carlos Boozer is offering a private jet.
