The Golden State Warriors did something crazy their last time out against the Utah Jazz. Their shooting exhibition blew out a close game in the 3rd quarter, and the final score was not as close as the game actually was. They did something crazy in their last game out too, they LOST. Their 113-111 failing at the hands of the Chicago Bulls was their seventh loss this season. There have been a lot of wins their way this season for sure, but there's something strange about this Golden State club.
They seem to lose in twos. Their first loss of the season was on November 9th, and their second was the very next game on the 11th. Their fourth and fifth losses also happened one after another on December 23rd and 25th. It's now January and I'm going to say it -- if the Jazz win tonight it will give GSW their 7th and 8th losses, again, in a row. If the pattern holds the Jazz should win.
But well, patterns don't always hold when it comes to the #801. I blame the inversion.
Starters:
- Dante Exum vs. Stephen Curry
- Joe Ingles vs. Klay Thompson
- Gordon Hayward vs. Harrison Barnes
- Derrick Favors vs. Draymond Green
- Enes Kanter vs. Marreese Speights
Bench:
- Elijah Millsap vs. Andre Iguodala
- Trey Burke vs. Shaun Livingston
- Rudy Gobert vs. Andrew Bogut
- #struggle vs. an actual playoff team
Injuries:
- Alec Burks (UTA) is out
- Rodney Hood (UTA) is out
- Andrew Bogut (GSW) will play, though he has the flu
- Festus Ezeli (GSW) has been sent to the NBA-DL
They have All-Stars (2), depth, and have won more games by January than we will by seasons end. I expect our guys to compete tonight. That's all I'm asking for.
