I currently live in Chicago. I hear about the Chicago Bulls all the time. This is a lot worse than it was when I lived in Detroit, and nobody wanted to talk about the Detroit Pistons. I didn't have a problem there. I have a problem here because it's not even safe to wear my Jazz gear casually because I'll get some smack talk from the 60 year old black dude in line at the grocery store about how Bison Dele was better than Karl Malone, or something foolish like that. Living in Chicago is tough as a Jazz fan. Having gone to Bulls games here it's fun to see other Jazz fans in the Chicago area, but it's really not the most hospitable place in the world for 'road fans'.
After all, an entire generation of fans grew up here believing that Michael Jordan was somehow better than Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, or Magic Johnson. And while it's fun to talk to cult followers, some Chicago Bulls fans are just crazy. (To be fair, some of the bloggers I've met in Chicago are really smart and nice. But it's not the bloggers I'm worried about.)
Tonight is going to be a tough game. The Jazz do not traditionally win much in Chicago. Utah is super injured, and the Bulls (missing some pieces) are more equipped to dismantle our make-shift offense.
Starters:
- PG: Trey Burke vs. Kirk Hinrich
- SG: Joe Ingles vs. Derrick Rose
- SF: Gordon Hayward vs. Jimmy Butler
- PF: Derrick Favors vs. Pau Gasol
- C: Rudy Gobert vs. Joakim Noah
Bench:
- Lulz vs. Bulls
I have to be back at work in about 2.5 hours, so this is it from me for today.
GO JAZZ GO!
