The Utah Jazz (2-1) look to regain their winning ways after losing a stinker to the Phoenix Suns on the weekend. They play in front of their home fans for the first time tonight, against the Portland Trail Blazers (1-2). As mentioned in the preview, we're not going to see Damian Lillard, Gerald Henderson, or Cliff Alexander from the bad guys. We may see Moe Harkless, though I think Chris Kaman, C.J. McCollum, Mason Plumlee, Ed Davis, and Meyers Leonard will have bigger impacts on this game. As the Jazz are still without Dante Exum (and Grant Jerrett) it's likely that our main offense will attempt to be had in the paint. Portland is big enough that we can actually go 'normal' (for us) and not have to adjust to the other team going small.
I have written a lot in a short order, this game thread is not going to be much longer.
Starters -- I think:
- PG: Tim Frazier vs. Trey Burke
- SG: C.J. McCollum vs. Alec Burks
- SF: AL-Farouq Aminu vs. Gordon Hayward
- PF: Meyers Leonard vs. Derrick Favors
- C: Mason Plumlee vs. Rudy Gobert
The undercard of Ed Davis against Trevor Booker, and Noah Vonleh vs. Trey Lyles should be fun to watch. Also, Chris Kaman cavemaning it out against Jeff Withey, Tibor Pleiss, and Jack Cooley -- who needs guards anyway?
