The Utah Jazz take on the Seattle Supersonics Oklahoma City Thunder tonight! Yeah, that joke never gets old for me. I'm a 80s NBA Fan. I don't take to change very well. (Don't even get me started on what happened to the Midwest division!) These are two franchises that don't like each other very much. Even after the move, and re-brand, the teams aren't the best of friends. Kevin Durant always seems to come out with something to prove against Utah -- clearly a response to how Andrei Kirilenko abused him during KD's rookie year. (What is it with how stars go nuts against our team after they struggle as rookies . . . like Kobe Bryant for example.) Russell Westbrook always has his guns blazing and his combination of strength, athleticism, and swagger make him very hard to stop. Tonight that duo will be looking to get their 9th win of this very early season, and former Jazzman Enes Kanter is going to be helping them out.

Opposing them will be our stalwarts, young, and honest, and true -- Derrick Favors, Gordon Hayward, Rudy Gobert. Both teams have suspect benches, but do have firepower where they need them. Both teams have a lot to prove this year. It's just that one of them seems to really have a lot of bandwagon fans.

It always makes me wonder, if the Jazz were going to the Finals during the social media era, would fans from all over the continent really love such a small market club?

Key Bench:

  • Dante Exum (UTA - Starting PG) -- Out
  • Kevin Durant (OKC - Starting SF) -- Game time decision
