Okay everyone, it's a game night! So let's get excited! The Utah Jazz (3-2) will host the Memphis Grizzlies (3-3) tonight in a battle of very similar styles and sizes. Both teams go slow, go big, and don't take a lot of threes. (For this and more "expert-ish" analysis, check out the game preview.) Tonight's game means something. It's a measuring stick for our young club as they try to crawl their way up out of the lottery and into the playoffs. For the Grizzlies, a team that has yet to go to the NBA Finals even once, it's a chance to show that they still can handle all challengers in the conference. Furthermore, the winner gets the rest of Blue Edwards ' Bird rights, and the filing cabinet filled with legal notes from his personal life. (Which never would have happened if he had just remained a Jazzman) (For the kids out there, Blue Edwards played for both franchises.)
I'm not entirely certain who is in or who is out for this game . . . but . . .here are some pretty good guesses!
Assumed Starters:
- Point Guard: Mike Conley vs. Raul Neto
- Shooting Guard: Courtney Lee vs. Rodney Hood
- Small Forward: Tony Allen vs. Gordon Hayward
- Power Forward: Zach Randolph vs. Derrick Favors (probable)
- Center: Marc Gasol (questionable) vs. Rudy Gobert
Key Bench:
- Beno Udrih vs. Trey Burke
- Matt Barnes vs. Alec Burks
- Jeff Green vs. Joe Ingles
- Brandan Wright vs. Trevor Booker
Other Notes:
- Jarrell Martin (MEM) is out
- Dante Exum (UTA) is out
- Jordan Adams (MEM) is out
It's an important game for both teams. It's also an important game where we show our support and appreciation for the US Armed Forces.
GO JAZZ GO!
