Quick Update #2
- OKC and BKN could be getting close to a Brook Lopez / Reggie Jackson deal [Full article]
Via Jesus Gomez:
The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Brooklyn Nets are engaged in serious talks about a potential trade sending center Brook Lopez to the Thunder for point guard Reggie Jackson, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The two teams had discuss a deal in the past, with the Thunder offering Kendrick Perkins and Jeremy Lamb, an offer the Nets rejected. With Jackson recently demanding a trade, the Thunder now seems ready to include him and the Nets are interested.
The trade is likely dependent on whether the Nets believe they can convince Jackson, who will become a restricted free agent in the offseason, to re-sign with them long term. Jackson has said many times he wants to start and the Nets have Deron Williams and Jarrett Jack under contract in that position. For the Thunder, Lopez would represent a significant upgrade over Perkins and could help them survive the injury their starting center Steven Adams recently suffered.
