NBA Playoffs 2015: Eastern Conference Standings -- Who will clinch the last spot?

Three teams are fighting for one spot, who will get it?

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Out East, there is one playoff spot left for grabs, the last one. I don't know who is in a rush to go out against the Atlanta Hawks, but three teams are raising their hands: the Indiana Pacers (8), the Brooklyn Nets (9), and the Miami Heat (10). Here's their standings right now, on the penultimate night of the NBA regular season.

  • The Pacers have two games left to play, vs. Washington Wizards, and at Memphis Grizzlies. This is going to be tough, as Memphis is going all out to win; but the Wizards may be chillin' at this point, as they are locked up at #5. (They have a chance to get homecourt still though.)
  • The Nets have one game left to play, vs. the Orlando Magic. I expect the Nets to win, but they'll need Indy to lose both games.
  • The Heat have one game left to play, at the Philadelphia 76ers. We expect the Heat to win, and they are in the playoffs if the Nets lose their game, and the Pacers lose both of theirs. But it's likely that they miss it.

So who gets it?
