The Utah Jazz (7-7) will lace em up for yet another road game, tonight the second night of a back-to-back / 3rd game in four nights battle against regional rivals the Denver Nuggets (4-8). I've been off the internet for most of the day and I don't have a lot to add for today. The Jazz swept the Nuggets last season 4-0, and are 108-75 overall all time. On the road Utah is only 36-55, and we all know that Denver is a tough place to play. Moreso when the team is a) tired, b) injured, and c) not playing well. Being tired is a product of the schedule and not in the Jazz' control. Being injured is partly on the Jazz, partly on luck, and partly on the Jazz training crew. As for playing poorly, the last part, that's all on the Jazz. If Andrei Kirilenko can be an All-Star and Jerry Sloan command a really bad team to 42 wins -- why can't the Jazz do well this year with Gordon Hayward and more depth than ever before? It's 14 games in, this team may be fine down the road. But right now Utah has yet to play at their full capacity.
Game Preview | Five Things to Watch | Overtone | Triad | Denver Stiffs
Utah is going to be without George Hill, Alec Burks, and Derrick Favors. Denver without Mike Miller is still a tough team. I don't know the up to date info on Gary Harris, Will Barton, or Darrell Arthur -- but it's clear both teams are banged up, but one team is missing more starters.
Presumed Starters:
- PG: Dante Exum vs. Emmanuel Mudiay
- SG: Rodney Hood vs. Gary Harris
- SF: Gordon Hayward vs. Danilo Gallinari
- PF: Trey Lyles (or Boris Diaw) vs. Nikola Jokic
- C: Rudy Gobert vs. Jusuf Nurkic
Sorry the content this weekend has been sparse. Family be crazy.
