The second day of the NBA Playoffs has started already, with four games on tap. First off we have the [1] Cleveland Cavaliers taking on the [8] Detroit Pistons. This game is already in the first quarter and you can catch it on ABC. As we all expected, it's the LeBron James against Marcus Morris show. Yeah, really. The second game today is another East mach-up between the [3] Miami Heat hosting the [6] Charlotte Hornets. The Heat aren't nearly as strong as they used to be, and the Hornets have a real inside scorer in Al Jefferson, and enough crazy guards that it may make a difference. Kemba Walker has been great this season, Goran Dragic will have to step it up. This game starts at 3:30 pm MT on TNT.
Out West we start things off with the [2] San Antonio Spurs facing the very, very injured [7] Memphis Grizzlies. This one is on at 6:00 pm MT on TNT. We're about to see how far Zach Randolph can take this team almost single-handedly. So far this playoffs we've seen Western blowouts. This may be yet another one. The marquee match-up on this TNT triple-header is the 8:30 pm MT tip-off between the [4] Los Angeles Clippers and the [5] Portland Trail Blazers. Out of all the games out West this is probably not going to be a blow out.
It's going to be interesting to see how the East first round is close and the West is a blowout every night. If this persists it means that, well, either the best of the East isn't that great (possibly true) or that the bottom of the West are no competition against the top of the conference (also possibly true).
What do you think?
