Jazz Players' Olympic Teams Competing Big! Downbeat #1971

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Another week closer to some Jazz basketball!

Beat 1

Down to roughly 10 weeks until the Jazz regular season starts, even shorter to get a first glimpse of this hopeful team in preseason and presently we have been getting glimpses of a few our players in the Olympics.

It's unfortunate that none of our guys made the cut for the U.S. squad, but still quite the honor that 4 players on our roster are representing their countries as the best of the best in their sport.

Will the Jazz have anyone representing the U.S. in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo? It was surreal to have Stockton and Malone winning gold medals and then Williams and Boozer in 2008.

Onto to more Olympic talk:

Beat 2

The 2 Jazz Olympians on the France squad barely came short against the heavily favorited U.S. team 97-100 this weekend! US finishes group play undefeated still 5-0. France finishes 3-2, with their other loss coming against Australia. T

his France squad got hungry and got this supposedly invincible U.S. team to look strangely mortal once again as the Americans struggle on the defensive end.

Jazz newcomer Boris Diaw had 5 points, 7 assists, and 2 steals in 26 minutes. Rudy Gobert had 6 points, 5 rebounds, and a surprising 0 blocks in 18 minutes.

Quaterfinals start Wednesday with U.S. playing the 4th best team from Group B, while France will take on the 2nd best team from Group B.

Ingles' Australia squad clinched the 2nd best record in Group A with a 4-1 record.

Neto's host national team Brazil is currently on the outside looking in and is unlikely to advance to the quarterfinals.

Beat 3

Speaking of Boris Diaw, the fanbase reaction of his addition to the Jazz has been a bit of a mixed bag, mainly due to his age and underwhelming role last season.

I think his skillset will fit perfectly within our front-court needs.

Also, it's nice to bring in to bring some leadership onto this young squad:

Get hyped, here's his highlight reel from last season:

Beat 4

This upcoming Jazz season looks to be the most promising season of the Post-Sloan era. Will the Jazz win a playoff game? Playoff series?

I'm hoping for this year's Jazz to surpass all of their past teams of the decade easily, and for this clip below to finally no longer be the last win the Jazz got in the NBA playoffs over 6 years ago now!

Beat 5

The Jazz regular season schedule dropped last week.

What home game are you most looking forward to? The Warriors? Cavaliers? Lakers?
