Former BYU stud Jimmer Fredette hacked on twitter!

Hacker revealed plans to retire from basketball

Jimmer Fredette is a pretty successful guy, even if he’s not currently an NBA All-Star. He has a trophy case that’s stuffed with high school, college, and pro awards. The sharpshooter led the NCAAs in scoring on his way to the National college player of the year award in 2011. He was a top 10 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. And he’s been putting in buckets as a professional for the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, Westchester Knicks (NBA DL), New York Knicks, and Shanghai Sharks (China). He’s been an All-Star in a number of leagues all over the globe. And he’s still only 27 with a lot of game left.

Of course, other people are playing games with him as well, as his twitter account was hacked!

Awful. A subsequent tweet attempted to support those first unreasonable claims. But Jimmer regained control of things (clutch under pressure) and set the record straight.

I think hacking people, public figures and private civilians, is stupid. Grow up people. Get a life. As for Jimmer, he already has one. I don’t know if / when he’s going to get his next shot in the NBA (the San Antonio Spurs were the most recent team to do it), but you can make a good life playing pro ball overseas. After all, Ante Tomic seems to think it’s great.

Right now Jimmer is averaging 37.33 ppg for Shanghai. He’s hitting on 41.2% of his threes, and taking 10.89 shots from deep a game. Keep shooting! Don’t let anyone out there tell the world that you are quitting basketball.
