Utah Jazz lose to Toronto Raptors: Postgame Reaction

Demar Derozan was big in Toronto’s victory over the Jazz

NBA: Toronto Raptors at Utah Jazz Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Utah Jazz couldn’t handle Demar Derozan who had a huge night for the Toronto Raptors. Derozan scored 37 points with a surprising 3/7 from three.

Donovan Mitchell is showing incredible signs for the Jazz scoring 25 points including going 3/7 from three. Mitchell’s improvement has been remarkable. He’s improving not month to month or week to week, but game to game. Tonight, Mitchell undoubtedly learned that when you guard the Raptors, don’t fall for the pump fake.

Two players that struggled for the Jazz were Ricky Rubio and Rodney Hood. The Jazz expect difficult shooting nights from Ricky here and there, but Hood’s inability to have a positive impact, two games in a row, is tough. Rodney is struggling to be that go-to scorer, which might not be who he is. For Rodney, who is undoubtedly working hard to prove himself for future contracts, he’s struggling to find his role post Gordon Hayward. Whatever role Rodney is looking for, the Jazz need him to find it soon.
