The Phoenix Suns have traded Eric Bledsoe to the Milwaukee Bucks for Greg Monroe and first round draft pick. Turns out Eric Bledsoe could tank his value and still be quite valuable.

The Milwaukee Bucks now have a veteran point guard to pair with their young core. There’s a chance that Eric Bledsoe will have the effect that George Hill had on Utah last year. Now there’s someone directing that team that takes pressure off of Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

For the Phoenix Suns they get Greg Monroe who in this scenario is a salary dump. I’m actually surprised the Suns left with Monroe. They already have a ton of talent with young big men and Greg Monroe further complicates it. I would not be surprised if Greg Monroe will be on the move again before the end of the trade deadline in February.

For Utah, this means that Phoenix is embracing its young core and #TheTimeline. Phoenix will most likely end with a pick in the low 20s and their own wherever they finish after this winning streak caused by the Jay Triano coaching bump. The other part of this equation is the only offense available on the trade market is now gone.

Utah has looked starved for offense and while Bledsoe wouldn’t have been a great fit, it’s hard to figure out whether this Utah Jazz team is built for a playoff run or stuck in the middle of the haves and have nots.

The Utah Jazz will face off against the new look Bucks on November 25, two days after Thanksgiving. Get your popcorn ready.
