Finally, some good news! The Utah Jazz may be in a three game losing skid, but reinforcements are on the way. Rodney Hood, who had been averaging 19 points and 3 rebounds off the bench, is targeting a Wednesday return vs the Bulls in Chicago for his return. Rodney Hood has been battling soreness in his ankle.
In the Jazz’s last three games, they have been in desperate need of spacing and a scoring punch. With their limited options on the wing, those responsibilities have fallen to Donovan Mitchell and Alec Burks. Donovan Mitchell in his last couple games has looked to be the unfortunate beneficiary of the opposing teams’ scouting, struggling from the field and on the defensive end. The addition of Rodney Hood should relieve the pressure from Burks and Mitchell.
The Jazz’s starting lineup has been struggling with the return of Rudy Gobert and the nightmarish Ricky Rubio, Derrick Favors, and Rudy Gobert non shooting 3. That lineup has struggled to provide enough spacing for the Jazz’s wings to operate. Hood’s return could allow Quin Snyder to move Mitchell to point guard and Alec Burks to starting shooting guard while Rubio and Hood come off the bench.
The Utah Jazz play the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday at 6:00PM MT.
