The Utah Jazz announced that they have signed Erik McCree and waived Eric Griffin.

McCree, a 6-8 lefty forward from Louisiana Tech, has averaged 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists in the G-league this season, including a 29-point season high.

Here are some highlights of McCree with his time at Louisiana Tech.

From these highlights it looks like there’s a lot to like about his game, especially his ability to stretch the floor. Dennis Lindsey has proven to be an excellent judge of talent in unexpected places. The best example of that would be Joe Ingles, but the Jazz may also have found another great contributor in Royce O’neale who continues to find more time on the court.

Personally, I’ll miss Eric Griffin. His ferocious dunks in summer league were impressive and I had hoped he would work himself into more time on the team. Good luck, Eric Griffin, from all of us at SLC Dunk.
