Okay, Liberty Ballers readers. Before you get too salty, realize that Donovan Mitchell had a better week than Ben Simmons. Look:

Despite the rough stretch for the Utah Jazz, Donovan Mitchell has been destroying worlds and forcing the national media to #takenote. Is Mitchell the leading (Kia) Rookie of the Year candidate? Honestly, probably not. Ben Simmons is simply a sexier pick, and is a phenomenal player. Even in a “down week” he nearly averaged a triple-double. Will Mitchell continue to be in the conversation, though? You bet. If there is anyone who has even an outside shot at knocking the vaunted Simmons off his perch, it’s this kid.

We’re not trading Ricky Rubio, okay? Stop it. Look, I’ve expressed the sentiment myself in recent weeks, but it’s simply not a good idea. The trade market for Ricky is D-E-A-D. Furthermore, the other players like him. He’s a teacher, and he knows how to make plays, despite his turnover problems. To top it all off, this should make you want to keep him for a good long while:

‘Tis the season. It’s always encouraging to see our Utah Jazz players helping the community and the world.

Remember Woj? He’s the guy that used to do the stuff that Shams Charania does now. Anyway, he’s got a pretty cool podcast, and his latest iteration is worth a listen. Says some nice things about Quin Snyder, Donovan Mitchell, and the Jazz in general. I know #TankNote is over, but the part about Luka Doncic is also pretty interesting.

It’s a day old, but here’s a nice piece about Ekpe Udoh and his journey through the world of professional basketball and community outreach. He’s a really good dude.
