Report: Phoenix Suns interested in Utah Jazz’s Derrick Favors

Derrick Favors on the move?

NBA: Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports

A report from Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune points to the Phoenix Suns as having interest in Derrick Favors.

Elsewhere, the Phoenix Suns have expressed interest in talking to the Jazz about Derrick Favors, Utah's starting power forward, sources say.

Even through he has been dealing with a nagging knee injury throughout the season, Favors is still considered important to the success of the team, so it is less likely that the Jazz part ways with him. Still, Utah has been willing to listen when it comes to Favors, who is on a team-friendly contract through the end of next season.

Derrick Favors has been fighting nagging injuries all season and hasn’t looked like himself forcing Quin Snyder to avoid playing him and Rudy Gobert at the same time. There have been questions about Favors long term fit with Utah especially with the upcoming big pay days of George Hill and Gordon Hayward next year.

It would seem that Phoenix would have to give up one of their promising big men in return for Derrick Favors as they would have a major logjam at the position considering Tyson Chandler, Marquese Chriss, Dragan Bender, Alex Len, PJ Tucker, and TJ Warren all are part of their big man rotation at times.

More details to follow as they become available ...
