The NBA Trade Deadline is over. Teams have waived and signed players. We know which teams are tanking, and we know which teams are playing for the post season. It’s March, so our feature “While you were sleeping...” returns! So let’s get to it!
There were nine teams in the Western Conference playing last night, with everything pretty much going our way!
Good news!
- The Utah Jazz [4] defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 112-97
- The Los Angeles Clippers [5] lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, 112-101
- The Memphis Grizzlies [6] lost to the Dallas Mavericks [12], 104-100
- The Oklahoma City Thunder [7] lost to the Phoenix Suns [14], 118-111
All the teams directly behind Utah lost, while Utah won. Fantastic.
News!
- The San Antonio Spurs [2] beat the New Orleans Pelicans [13] in OT, 101-98
- The Los Angeles Lakers [15] lost to the Boston Celtics, 115-95
Bad news!
There was no bad news last night!
Tonight’s Action:
- San Antonio Spurs [2] host the Minnesota Timberwolves [11]
- Houston Rockets [3] host the Memphis Grizzlies [6]
- Los Angeles Clippers [5] visit the Chicago Bulls
- Denver Nuggets [8] host the Charlotte Hornets
- Portland Trail Blazers [9] host the Brooklyn Nets
Denver and Portland don’t really matter to Utah right now, and neither does San Antonio. Houston and Memphis could go either way, depending on if you are an optimist (Jazz will catch Houston) or pessimist (Jazz need as much help as possible to not drop down too far).
Last night was great. Hopefully tonight will be as well!
