Utah Jazz vs Los Angeles Clippers: Team Breakdown

What the teams do with the ball, without it, and overall this season

NBA: Utah Jazz at Los Angeles Clippers Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

The Utah Jazz are going to be taking on the Los Angeles Clippers. It’s the first round of the playoffs between a team on the rise and a team trying to take the next level. Both teams won the same number of games, and have their strengths and weaknesses.

The Jazz are defense first, and it shows. (Seriously, what else do you expect from a team that plays slow and funnels everything into DPOY candidate Rudy Gobert?) The Clippers are fantastic on offense, though. They get the best shots (thanks Donald Trump), and live at the line. Chris Paul is the maestro of their orchestra and he has a lot of finishers all around him in Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, J.J. Redick, and others.

Both teams also have a number of bench scorers, Jamal Crawford and Paul Pierce and Joe Johnson and Rodney Hood all can get buckets. One thing only one of these teams have is an elite wing player, and that’s Gordon Hayward. On the flip-side, he is going to be harassed by Luc Mbah a Moute.

Doc Rivers has coached a team to a championship, Quin Snyder has not.

I know home court is a big deal, but both teams have the same home and road records. That’s hilarious to me.

Anyway, it’s going to be a fun series!
