It is being reported that the Boston Celtics are discussing a trade with the Philadelphia 76ers that would reportedly ship the #1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft to Philadelphia according to a report from ESPN’s Marc Stein and Zach Lowe. Danny Ainge’s Celtics look to be targeting Josh Jackson and are willing to trade down away from Markelle Fultz to do it.
League sources tell @ZachLowe_NBA and me that the Sixers and Celtics are in serious talks on a trade involving the No. 1 overall pick.

In current parameters, BOS would receive several picks and no players, sources say. Have to think No. 3 would be involved. https://t.co/xHYANlYzeT

Dennis Lindsey and the rest of the Utah Jazz front office have to be breathing a sigh of relief with this report. This could also signal that prying Gordon Hayward away from Utah in free agency is easier said than done. With the prospect that Hayward could rebuff Boston in free agency, Danny Ainge could be stockpiling assets to trade for one of the couple of Small Forward Superstars available on the trade market: Paul George and Jimmy Butler.
With this potential move, the chances of Gordon Hayward staying in Utah are rising.
