SLC Summer League action concludes this evening when the Utah Jazz take on the Boston Celtics at 7:00 PM MDT. The Jazz are the 2-0 going into tonight’s game while the Celtics eked out just one win in the final seconds of their first game. Clearly the Celtics could use an influx of talent. Hope they find it somewhere soon ...
...
The biggest bright spot for Utah in the first two game has been the play of Dante Exum and Donovan Mitchell. Exum has clearly made some improvements since the end of last season and people can’t stop raving about Mitchell. They seem to compliment each other very well in the back court and are the clear talents on the team. Need an example?
The defense. The hustle. The assist.

So much sauce.
On the other side of the court the Celtics showcase Jaylen Brown and this year’s #3 pick Jayson Tatum. Both have been impressive and have showed why they were both high lottery picks. If there’s one thing Boston doesn’t need right now it’s another small forward.
Marquee Matchup: Dante Exum vs. Jayson Tatum
Both of these guys have showed that they’re probably too good to be seeing much more action in the summer league. Tatum is a highly-touted rookie and Exum is entering his fourth year with the Jazz. Missing an entire season with a knee injury basically moved Exum back to square one, so let’s pretend this is his second and final summer league.

Tatum has been averaging over 20 PPG so far in summer league and has an easy time finding his jumper and getting to the rim. It’s clear the goal for the Celtics in summer league is to get Tatum as comfortable as possible. With Jaylen Brown sitting out tonight Tatum is gonna get all of the touches on offense.

X-Factor: You, the fans!
Alright, alright. I know its just summer league. There’s no real winners or losers here and these games are just glorified scrimmages. That being said, I’m certain every Jazz fan rreeeallllyyyyy wants Utah to beat Boston tonight for reasons. Danny Ainge is gonna be there. Celtics fans are gonna be there. I don’t think I’ve ever heard this much buzz surrounding a summer league game. I’ve been to a handful of summer league games and while they were exciting I’m sure this one will be a little different. Show up to the game tonight and heckle some guys in green!
Prediction: Jazz Win
A win tonight would really help move the healing process along. Utah will be looking to prove something tonight. Jazz win 87-77.
