The Downbeat: Kyrie Irving traded for Isaiah Thomas

The Kyrie Irving trade talks are over

It’s official, Kyrie Irving has finally been traded.

Kyrie Irving was traded to the Boston Celtics for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the 2018 Brooklyn Nets pick (unprotected).

It’s a blockbuster trade that will have ramifications across the league for the rest of summer and next season.

It’s interesting to look back at the George Hill sign and trade rumor now. Would that have been a better haul for the Cleveland Cavaliers?

In probably his most savage of tweets since the infamous Majin Buu tweet of 2015,

Rudy Gobert slayed Twitter once again with the most savage of retweets the world has ever seen.

Rudy always gets the last laugh. Always. Knowing how loyal Isaiah Thomas was to the Celtics only to see them trade him away makes this retweet nuclear.

Another Jazz player stepped into the twitter ring (possibly).

Joe Ingles tweets the coffee emoji pretty regularly, but this has the makings of a very petty tweet and I’m all about it. Is Joe just enjoying his typical cup of Joe (do you think he says cup of Joe?) or is he making a comment about how players are treated in Boston?

One thing’s for sure, social media will be pretty amazing if Gordon Hayward ever gets traded after all of this.

Another day, another Derrick Favors post showing him morphing back into the beast we knew pre injuries. Favors is looking great and ready to prove people wrong. How good are we if Favs wins “Comeback Player of the Year” this upcoming season?

Finally, we at SLC Dunk wanted to congratulate Jonathan Rinehart for becoming the new team president of the Salt Lake City Stars. There’s no doubt he’ll do great work!
