It’s that time of the year, folks. The NBA trade deadline is only a few weeks away, and the conventional wisdom is that the Jazz will be sellers. We’ve covered quite a few rumors on the Dunk—most of them revolving around Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic—but we’ve got a newer one today:
.@wojespn today on The Jump: “Cavs are looking to add size. A player who is available that teams are calling about who could help them is Derrick Favors from the Jazz.”— Spencer Checketts (@1280Spence) January 16, 2018
As currently translated, the writing on the wall seems to read that Derrick Favors is out of here, if not at the deadline then at the end of the season. This is old news, but his twitter profile looks like this:
Decidedly not very Jazzy.
This rumor begs this question: What would the Jazz get in return if a trade were made? The most likely player seems to be Tristan Thompson, in order to make the salaries work, but the Jazz are undoubtedly looking for picks. The much-coveted Brooklyn Nets pick is likely not going anywhere, but they’d probably be willing to part with their own first-round pick.
