Congratulations to Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz for the invite to the Mtn Dew Rising Stars game. Mitchell headlines the U.S team. The game takes place 7:00 p.m. MT, Friday night (February 16) of All Star Weekend.
We are very excited for Donovan. Although, we feel that he should have been invited to the Dunk Contest, we know Donovan we’ll represent the Jazz well at this game.
After the invite Donovan was interviewed by the NBA TV crew!
"This is a crazy experience and I'm loving every minute of it. Truly honored and blessed to be here."@utahjazz rookie, @spidadmitchell joined #10BeforeTip to talk being named to the 2018 Mtn Dew Kickstart Rising Stars U.S. Team roster and more! pic.twitter.com/RE6fHIuGgz

Donovan talks about his workout with the Jazz, how he feels his rookie season is going, and if he has a chip on his shoulder. His answer to the chip on his shoulder question, was perfect. Donovan responded with saying how people want him to have it but he doesn’t because he sees it as selfish. He said if he thought about the teams who didn’t draft him and how he was going prove to them that they were wrong for not drafting him, he would be selfish. He would be putting himself above the team. He said its not about him but about the team and his teammates. Wow! Could we get a mature response? What an answer!
Along, with Donovan, the U.S team consists of:
Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Malcolm Brogdon, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, John Collins, Kris Dunn, and Dennis Smith Jr.
The World team is:
Joel Embiid (Cameroon), Ben Simmons (Australia) and Dario Saric (Croatia), Bogdan Bogdanovic (Serbia), Buddy Hield (Bahamas), Dillon Brooks (Canada), Lauri Markkanen (Finland), Jamal Murray (Canada), Frank Ntilikina (France), and Domantas Sabonis (Lithuania).
Congrats Donovan!
