Adrian Wojnarowski reported today that teams have begun inquiring about Alec Burks' availability in the days leading up to the NBA Trade Deadline. Woj says that wing depleted teams in the playoff hunt are looking for role players for a playoff push. Burks' name is one that has been coming up in conversation:
Teams are targeting the availability of Brooklyn's DeMarre Carroll, Utah's Alec Burks, Orlando's Evan Fournier and Atlanta's Kent Bazemore, among others.
Alec Burks is currently owed $21.7M for this season and next season. If a team were willing to take on Alec Burks while giving up a draft pick or better yet an expiring contract, Utah would be very intrigued by the offer. Alec Burks has had an up and down year this season. There have been stretches where it looks like he's putting it together and other times where he is a hindrance on the offense.
There's a chance that by the end of this season we could see the last of the Core Four (Burks, Hayward, Derrick Favors, Kanter) make there way to other teams.
