[UPDATE 2/7/13 1:05PM]

The trade deadline is under 24 hours away, and the rumors continue to ramp up. Shams over on Yahoo Sports recently had a conversation with Rodney Hood about the upcoming deadline, where Rodney expressed his expectation of being moved.

“It’s been tough for me, it has been, but at the same time, my obligation is to have a job,” Hood told Yahoo Sports. “For my family, for my loved ones, my priority is to have a job and perform. I’ve had great times in Utah, but regardless of where I’m playing, whether it’s there or somewhere else, I’m going to stay professional. I’m going to stick with it.

“My gut feeling is that I won’t be here by the deadline. I’ve enjoyed my time here, but I’ve felt isolated the past month and I would not be surprised if I was moved.

“People have told me to put things into perspective. It’s been tough for me to be in this situation, but it’s part of it. It’s part of the growing process. I just have to continue to get better and continue to learn. Whatever unfolds, I want people to know I stayed a pro and performed. I’m just looking to the future, playing in the playoffs and on a high level. Whatever happens, happens.”

Hood has handled this situation very professionally and I appreciate what he has done either way. He was great value as a 23rd pick and has contributed to a fun era of Jazz basketball. Whether he goes or stays will be determined soon, but we should wish him the best either way.

What might his value on the market be? Tony Jones has an update for us on that.

15 is a lot of teams. With Lou Williams signing an extension, the thin wing market just got thinner. This could drive up Rodney’s value up as we get closer and closer to 1pm MST on Thursday. Whether those 15 teams have valid offers on the table is a different conversation, but the interest appears to be there.

We’ll find out one way or another soon enough. Until then, this is pretty much how I treat most rumors in regards to the deadline. (And is a memory I’ll always enjoy)
