Ingles’ career night helps Utah extend winning streak

Jazz stay hot while notching eighth straight in win over Hornets.

The Utah Jazz returned home tonight after a four-game road stretch. They suited up in the “city” edition jerseys, with the matching court display for the second time this season. The red and orange gradient once again had Vivint SmartHome Arena fired up, as the Jazz defeated the Charlotte Hornets for their eighth straight victory.

Donovan Mitchell was Donovon Mitchell. You almost come to expect a 25-point game, maybe a few assists, and every now and then a huge dunk. Well, tonight we got the 25-point game, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and were blessed with TWO big spida dunks. Mitchell played a great game, and continues to prove to the NBA why he is deserving of the ROY award.

The Jazz played yet another great all-around team game, but had a standout performance from Joe Ingles. Ingles scored a career-high 23 points, and added 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Ingles had a couple big threes that seemed to kill any momentum built up by the Hornets, and ultimately led to their defeat.

Jae Crowder was also in the building for the Jazz win, and seemed to enjoy his arrival in Salt Lake City. He was seen engaging with some fans, and was recorded at the tunnell dapping up his new teammates following the win.

The Jazz extend their impressive winning streak to eight games, where it is starting to approach franchise record territory. The franchise record is 15 straight, back in 1996 with some guys named John Stockton and Karl Malone, maybe you have heard of them. Eight is the longest streak since 2006 and the baby blue D-Will days. The Jazz will look to go for nine straight in Portland on Sunday, in a big division bout with the Trail Blazers.
