It was clear the Memphis Grizzlies were not interested in winning the game against the Utah Jazz. Utah had no answer for Marc Gasol who shot 6/7 from three and 11/12 from the field and was promptly pulled at halftime. Tank you very much.
Nevertheless, it was a huge night for Dante Exum who looked every bit the top prospect he was touted to be. Exum shot 8/10 from the field including 3/4 from 3 for 21 points in 27 minutes. He also had 3 rebounds and 3 assists and was a major reason the Jazz pulled out a victory in what was a pretty unimpressive defensive performance.
Donovan Mitchell continues his strong play pouring in his standard 22 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. It’s amazing how reliable his scoring and playmaking are as a rookie. He’s truly special.
The Jazz have a tough road ahead of them and will need to improve in a lot of areas to ensure a playoff spot. Having Dante Exum provide this level of play will help with that immensely.
