Breaking: Thunder’s Paul George has a right hip contusion

Paul George will receive further evaluation tomorrow.

With the Utah Jazz optimistically hoping that Donovan Mitchell will be okay after stubbing his toe in game one, the Oklahoma City Thunder also are holding their breath for their star wingman. Paul George, who was held out of the remainder of tonight’s game, was on the sideline being worked on by trainers and looked to be in pain. At the time we wondered if it could have been cramping or back pain. It appears it was more hip related. Royce Young of ESPN has the scoop.

That’s not something you want to see if you’re a Thunder fan. Without Paul George, this Thunder team is not even at the caliber it was last year. If he’s kept out, that’s the second year in a row Utah’s opponent has one of their stars go down with injury. If you remember last year, Blake Griffin went down with an injury that swung the series in Utah’s favor.
