Donovan Mitchell told Dan Patrick that the Utah Jazz had made adjustments to guard James Harden, and the Houston Rockets, before the game. It worked.
Harden shot 2/10 from three but still managed to score 32 points. How’d he do it? He went 12/13 from the free throw line.
With Utah running Harden, and all the Rockets, off the three point line, the Rockets ran a lot of the James Harden/Clint Capela alley-oop and it worked pretty well. Capela scored 21 points on 10/15 shooting. It took everything the Jazz had to hold him off.
Joe Ingles was a major factor in the Jazz victory going 7/9 from three. When Ingles is hitting his threes at that rate, the Jazz are incredibly difficult to guard.
Dante Exum had a HUGE impact on the game. He was tasked with guarding Harden and helped to keep him to 2/10 from three and drew a big offensive foul at the end of the game. He also had a game sealing dunk that took any chance the Rockets had at a victory.
Donovan Mitchell took the brunt of the Houston offense and when they double-teamed him he found the right man. Mitchell ended the game with 11 assists!
