Utah Jazz Rank: Naz Mitrou-Long voted 16th most valuable on current roster

New, comments

Our readers voted Naz Mitrou-Long the 16th most valuable player on the Utah Jazz roster. Who’ll be 15th?

NBA: Summer League-Utah Jazz at New York Knicks Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Up next in our ranking of the Utah Jazz roster is Iowa State guard Naz Mitrou-Long. Naz has been within the Jazz system for some time now, having played in 40 games for the SLC Stars last season. He also appeared for 1 minute in a game for the Jazz this year, hitting his only shot (a 3 pointer).

During his time with the stars, he averaged 18 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. He shot nearly 38% from downtown on 9 attempts per game, so we know he can shoot the basketball. He also showed good playmaking skills during the summer league, which prompted the Jazz front office to reward him with a two-way deal for the upcoming season.

Here’s a nice highlight real from a summer league game, showing his capabilities as a scorer and ball-handler.

Again, I don't think expectations are too high for Mitrou-Long coming into the season, but I’m confident that Dennis Lindsey will continue to find diamonds in the rough. Who’s to say that won’t be Naz this time around?

Alright let’s continue through our ranking of the roster with round 3 of voting!
