Death, taxes, and injuries to Utah Jazz players.

[UPDATE 5:22PM]

Royce O’Neale will start in place of Joe Ingles for tonight’s preseason game.

There will be disappointing news for Aussie fans looking forward to see the greatest Australian basketball player to ever play the game. Joe Ingles will be held out of tonight’s NBA x NBL contest between the Utah Jazz and Perth Wildcats due to lower leg soreness. The news was reported by Kristen Kenney.

Joe Ingles—always the Jazz Ironman—has only missed a handful games in his 4 years with the Utah Jazz. Since this is preseason, there probably isn’t much to look into. The Jazz will be cautious as they have struggled with injuries over the past few years and will want to take the cautious route before what should be a very promising season.

Joe’s absence should allow Utah to get good looks at Royce O’Neale, Alec Burks, Thabo Sefolosha, Jae Crowder, and Dante Exum at the small forward position. If anything this is a great opportunity for Quin to experiment without real consequences of a regular season loss.

We have no idea if Joe’s lower leg soreness is related to the fact that he couldn’t get his Nestle coffee maker. We do know that Joe Ingles’ blood makeup is 75% coffee 25% clap back. This most likely could be what allowed this injury to occur.

Please send thoughts and prayers to Joe Ingles in this very difficult time while he is without home brewed Nespresso coffee.
