The Utah Jazz have announced that Rudy Gobert is questionable for tonight’s game with right hamstring soreness. The Jazz are slated to host the Minnesota Timberwolves at home.
Rudy Gobert is questionable tonight (right hamstring soreness).

Hamstrings have already limited Ricky Rubio, Thabo Sefolosha, and Raul Neto this season, and it appears that they have claimed another Jazzman victime. Gobert is absolutely pivotal for what Utah does as Gobert is the frontrunner for the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year and projected to be an All Star in the Western Conference. He’s averaging 14.9 points, 13.0, and 2.1 blocks this season while anchoring the league’s best defense.
If Gobert does sit tonight out—and it’s a possibility with the Jazz playing the first night of a home and away against Minnesota—Derrick Favors would be filling in for Gobert at center and Jae Crowder would probably be moved up to the starting lineup at power forward. Derrick Favors should be rested as he was ejected from the Nuggets game and only played 5 minutes.
[Correction: Prior version said Jazz were playing a back to back with Minnesota. They aren’t. They play at home against Utah tonight then in Minnesota on Sunday.]
