[UPDATE 9:30PM MT 1/7/19]
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for Utah that could affect how Utah approaches the trade deadline and the rest of the season. Ricky Rubio will undergo an MRI on his hamstring. The optimism seems mixed inside the Jazz organization as some believe it’s not serious according to Tony Jones of the Athletic. Here’s to hoping.
Utah Jazz point guard Ricky Rubio will have an MRI tomorrow on his hamstring, league sources tell The Athletic. While there is some optimism that his injury isn't serious, the Jazz are anxious for results and a timeline. Big day tomorrow for Utah— Tony Jones (@Tjonesonthenba) January 8, 2019
If you play point guard and are near the 801, the Utah Jazz could be calling you shortly. One game after losing Dante Exum in Detroit, the Utah Jazz lost Ricky Rubio to a right hamstring injury while facing the Milwaukee Bucks. Shortly after a layup in the 1st quarter, Ricky Rubio started limping on a non contact injury. Rubio was forced to leave the game.
Ricky Rubio actually has a right hamstring injury, not a thigh.— Eric Woodyard (@E_Woodyard) January 8, 2019
Ricky Rubio will not return in tonight’s tilt against Milwaukee and there’s no word as to the severity of the injury. It was this time last year that Ricky Rubio was forced to miss three games before the All Star break. He then played through the soreness, but ultimately was limited in the playoffs after Game 5 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
