Utah Jazz’s Bojan Bogdanovic OUT tonight against Los Angeles Lakers

The Clippers beat LA without PG so can Utah do so without Bogey?

The Utah Jazz’s prized free agent Bojan Bogdanovic is sitting tonight’s game out with a left ankle injury according the Utah Jazz PR. He sustained the injury on in the second quarter of Wednesday night’s home opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Bogdanovic returned for the second half and finished the game with 16 points and 3 rebounds, however, his status for the Lakers game was in doubt the next day when he was listed as questionable.

In our recap we had posited that while Bogey could play through it on Wednesday, once he spent time off that ankle, it probably wasn’t going to feel the best.

But anyone who has ever had an ankle injury knows that ankle is going to be a full blown kankle by tomorrow morning. It’s going to swell, it may become more uncomfortable, and it could limit his availability for the game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

Not helping the situation is Utah is traveling for the game so Bogey won’t get to stick around Utah and enjoy the benefit of the training facilities leading up to minutes before tip off. Something to keep an eye on.

Joe Ingles—who played 33 minutes off the bench—is going to be the next man up with Jeff Green and Royce O’Neale playing larger roles. The key for Utah tonight will be to stay out of foul trouble because depth is even shallower at the wing and four spot. If Joe Ingles and Royce O’Neale get into foul trouble, we could see Jeff Green, Georges Niang, and Miye Oni have to step up on a very large stage in LA, against All NBA talent in LeBron and AD, and disrupt Quin Snyder’s already disrupted rotations.

Tonight’s game tips off at 8:30pm. If you are in the Salt Lake City area, be sure to head over to Trolley Wing Co. in Midvale for Dunk Night Out at 8:00PM. We’re giving away a lot of prizes, there’ll be good food, and two tickets to Saturday’s Utah Jazz vs Sacramento Kings game will be given away. Don’t miss it!
